Required application info includes: a statement of interest, artist statement, CV, contact info for two references, and a website link.

Our program is designed as a small, bespoke creative retreat.

We support 1-2 artists/writers each year.

This program prioritizes artists who are new to the Kansas Flint Hills and the surrounding region.

Applications will be considered according to relevance and suitability to this unique opportunity.

Artists traveling with their families are absolutely welcome to this program.

Artists at any level in their career can apply to this program.

Prairieside Cottage can be rented as a vacation property as well; this function of the property directly supports the artist residency program.

Artist residencies awarded through our competitive program typically last 7-10 days and there is no fee to participate.

A privately situated, charming and well-appointed family-friendly house that can comfortably fit 4 people.

A separate studio, located adjacent to the house.

8 acres of private prairie land surrounding the house.

Access to the local arts community and galleries in Matfield Green and Chase County, Kansas.
