About the Residency Program.
Prairieside Outpost hosts a competitive artist residency program that welcomes 2 to 3 artists each year for short creative retreats. It is a uniquely family-friendly program.
Prairieside Outpost is nestled in the heart of the Flint Hills of Kansas, located in the tiny and energetic creative community of Matfield Green. The property is adjacent to town and privately situated with 8 acres of beautiful tallgrass prairie beside the cottage.
